On September 18, 2026, the International Laboratory of Positive Psychology of Personality and Motivation (Faculty of Social Sciences) is holding a research seminar titled "The World We See, the Life We Live: World Beliefs and the Psychology of Flourishing"

Each of us views the world in our own way. To some, it seems safe and generous; to others, a risky place where one must stay on guard. Some find something interesting around them almost every day, while others see only the familiar routine. We rarely give this much thought, yet this very perspective quietly shapes what we consider a "good life" – whether it’s about pleasure, meaning, or a pursuit that fully engages us. Consequently, it also determines how we spend our time: on work, leisure, people, or screens.

At this meeting, we will discuss the connections between these three elements: how we perceive the world, what we strive for, and how satisfied we ultimately feel with our lives. We’ll share what is known about this topic and what we’ve discovered ourselves. No prior knowledge is required – we hope to see you there.

Speakers:

Mustafa Subasi - PhD, Ibn Haldun University (Turkey)

Sefa Bulut - PhD, Ibn Haldun University (Turkey)

The seminar will take place at 11 Myasnitskaya St., Room 423, from 16:20 to 19:00.
The working language of the seminar is English.
