First National Educational Platform for Business Knowledge and Services Presented at the Festival of Youth and Students
A Russian nationwide educational online platform for entrepreneurs and to help develop infrastructure for the provision of public and commercial services based on a ‘one-stop-shop’ system, created by the Ministry of Economic Development together with Sberbank on the basis of the bank’s Business Environment online platform was presented on the last day of the youth festival. This platform is also known as the ‘National Knowledge and Solutions Platform’. HSE is a partner on the project.
Student Work Experience Helps Graduates Win Higher Salaries
Sergey Roshchin, HSE Vice Rector, discussed the main trends in graduate employment at a panel discussion titled ‘University-Graduate-Business: How to Build Constructive Partnership’ organized by the Ural Federal University and Sistema Charitable Foundation as part of the XIX World Festival of Youth and Students in Sochi. The participants discussed the changes required in education due to growing competition and the approaches that universities and employers take to pooling efforts and creating a joint vision.
‘In Russian the Word “Justice” Is Not Associated with the Word “War”’
Researchers from the Higher School of Economics have begun working with the research centre of the French Saint-Cyr Military Academy (École spéciale militaire de Saint-Cyr) on the moral and political issues of modern-day warfare. One part of this partnership was a conference devoted to just war theory and problems with combating terrorism. On October 11, Professor Dominic Lieven of the University of Cambridge, where he serves as Senior Research Fellow, Trinity College, gave a public lecture at HSE St Petersburg entitled ‘Reflections on empire, Russia and historical comparison’. The event was organized by the Center for Historical Research.
