In June, a delegation from the FCS and HSE MIEM visited Nur-Sultan, the capital of Kazakhstan, to present student start-ups to the IT community. The trip was organised as part of a programme to develop entrepreneurship among undergraduate and doctoral students of the HSE University Faculty of Computer Science.

Users Better Recognise Neutral Banner Ads
Marketers often make ads bright and catchy. However, scientists from HSE University have found out that banner advertising on websites should be neutral in order to influence users more effectively. The results of the study have been published in the Frontiers in Psychology journal.

Researchers from the HSE International Laboratory of Intangible-driven Economy have developed a model for optimising contest prizes for winners and more. The study uses eSports statistics to offer insights into the optimal reward structure for team competitions in a variety of spheres, including corporate and patent battles. The findings from this study have been published in the Journal of Economic Behavior & Organization.

‘30 Years Together’—International Partners’ Week Held at HSE University
HSE University in Moscow held the ‘30 Years Together’ International Partners’ Week. Embassy and university representatives from Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan attended the opening meeting. Representatives of HSE campuses in Perm, Nizhny Novgorod, and St. Petersburg also took part in the event.
