HSE University and the Rudomino All-Russia State Library for Foreign Literature have agreed to cooperate. The relevant agreement was signed by HSE Senior Director Andrey Lavrov and General Director of the Library for Foreign Literature Marina Zakharenko. The agreement provides for joint educational, academic, and cultural projects.

Future plans include lectures by leading university scholars at the library, special projects dedicated to commemorative dates, festivals, and other formats for engaging with a broad audience.

‘For HSE University, this agreement is a logical continuation of our mission to make academic knowledge accessible to society. The Library for Foreign Literature is one of the country's leading intellectual venues, and together we will be able to engage the broadest possible audience in discussions about science, culture, and education in a common language,’ said HSE Senior Director Andrey Lavrov.

‘The Library for Foreign Literature has always been a meeting place for cultures and ideas, and our partnership with HSE University opens up new opportunities for us. The expertise of the university's scholars will enrich the library's educational programme, while our readers will gain direct access to up-to-date academic knowledge from the experts themselves,’ emphasised Marina Zakharenko, General Director of the Library for Foreign Literature.

The partnership is already taking shape through specific events. Prof. Nadezhda Zamyatina of HSE University gave a lecture at the library devoted to the Arctic. To mark the birthday of Mikhail Bulgakov, the partners prepared a special project that included a literary quiz on the writer's works.

The key event of the autumn will be the Humanitarium festival, which will take place in October 2026 and feature leading HSE University scholars. The festival programme will bring together lectures, discussions, and meetings with researchers focusing on the humanities and their role in the modern world.
