HSE Signed Partnership Agreement with Ghent University
Students and doctoral students of the HSE Faculty of Computer Science will have the opportunity to take part in exchange and double degree programmes.
Ghent University held an international conference for partner universities ‘Shaping our common future: universities in a global society’ coinciding with the 200th anniversary of the university. Vice Rector Maria Yudkevich, Dean of the Faculty of Economic Sciences Oleg Zamulin, First Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science Tamara Voznesenskaya, Professor Christopher Gerry and Head of the International Cooperation Office Marina Batalina presented HSE at the conference. Over 64 universities took part in the event.
A cooperation agreement between HSE and Ghent University was signed as part of the conference. The agreement enables students from both universities to study for a semester in the partner university.
In this year’s QS ranking by subject, HSE made it into the 51-100 group in three subject areas. The ranking is dominated by universities that need no introduction, Harvard, Oxford, London School of Economics and Political Science, etc. But which universities make the 51-100 group together with HSE? From April 20 – 30, 2017, students from Radboud University Nijmegen took part in a cultural and educational programme organized by the Faculty of Computer Science as part of the ‘Information and Computer Technology in Different Cultures’ course.
Bachelor’s Programme in Logistics and Supply Chain Management Highly Assessed by European Logistics Association
On March 28, 2017, a meeting of representatives of national certification committees for logistics was held in Bucharest, Romania. Andrey Vinogradov, Deputy Head for International Relations at HSE School of Logistics, took part in the event.
April 1st, 2017 was the deadline for international students claiming state-financed slots on master’s programmes funded by scholarships from the Russian Government. The application period for undergraduate programmes lasts until May 2, and for fee-paying slots in undergraduate and master’s programmes – until mid-August. Some of the prospective students will have the opportunity to get a tuition fee discount.
HSE School of Business Informatics has joined with Hogeschool Rotterdam to launch a new type of project work for undergraduate students. Three student teams will be involved in developing real information systems for Dutch companies from February to May.
On February 2-3, 2017 the Higher School of Economics in St. Petersburg hosted the International Student Research Conference. The campus became a meeting point for young researchers and professors from Belarus, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Norway, Portugal, Russia, the UK, and Ukraine. For two days, participants attended lectures delivered by keynote speakers, presented posters and discussed issues of social informatics, applied data analysis, regional planning and development, sustainable tourism and development, modern Asia, finance, economic growth, logistics, usable pasts and political science. Sessions covered a wide variety of research interests.
Double-degree programme is launched on ICEF MSc ‘Financial Economics’. Starting from 2017/2018 intake, ICEF students can obtain a second Master’s Degree in Economics and Finance from LUISS University (Rome, Italy). Partner universities each award two individual qualifications upon completion of the collaborative programme requirements.
On November 27 – December 6, 2016, a delegation from HSE University visited Indonesia to hold Olympiad competitions, expand cooperation with local government and schools, and strengthen ties with local universities.
At the end of November, HSE School of Linguistics hosted the Uslar Conference — an international event for scholars studying the Caucasian languages. Participants and organizers have shared their impressions with HSE News.
In the Faculty of Humanities’ new master’s programme, Cultural and Intellectual History: Between East and West, students will study the history, culture, and traditions of Eastern and Western Europe from the Middle Ages to now. The programme, which begins accepting applications in 2017, also offers students the opportunity to receive a diploma from a partner university abroad.
