HSE President Alexander Shokhin Re-elected as President of Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs
Alexander Shokhin, President of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP), has been re-elected to lead the organisation for another four-year term. The decision was taken at an RSPP congress session held at the Russia National Centre. Since 1995, Alexander Shokhin has also served as President of HSE University. In addition, he heads HSE’s Department of Theory and Practice of Business–Government Interaction.
Vladimir Putin congratulated Alexander Shokhin on his re-election during a plenary session of the congress of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.
Professors and lecturers of the Department of Theory and Practice of Business–Government Interaction, staff of the HSE President’s Secretariat, and other university colleagues also congratulated Alexander Shokhin on his re-election.
At the congress session of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, Alexander Shokhin was re-elected President of the RSPP for a further four-year term. He has headed the union since 2005.
Previously, he held the posts of Minister of Labour of the RSFSR/Russian Federation, Deputy Prime Minister of the RSFSR for Social Policy, Minister of Labour and Employment of the RSFSR/Russian Federation, and Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation. In December 1993, he was elected as a deputy of the State Duma of the first convocation, and subsequently served as a deputy of the second and third convocations (1995 and 1999). From 2005 to 2009, he was a member of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation.
