HSE Among Top Five Universities with Highest Paid Graduates

The Higher School of Economics was ranked fifth among Russian universities with the highest paid graduates during their first year of employment, according to data from an employment monitoring study by the Russian Ministry of Education and Science. On average, graduates who completed a full-time undergraduate programme at HSE make 51,700 rubles per month, which is up from previous years and nearly double the average for the country as a whole.

In addition, the Ministry of Education and Science analysed the percentage of university graduates who found employment and determined that HSE is one of the best with 76.31% of graduates finding work within their first year of completing their degree.

During the ministry's study, 2016 employment statistics were analysed on more than 1.2 million graduates from the class of 2015. The data came from the Russian Pension Fund, the Federal Education and Science Supervision Agency, and higher education institutions.

The monitoring study also included an analysis of the various career trajectories of those who entered the university in 2009. The results showed that the knowledge students gained during their master's programme had a greater effect on their likelihood of employment and salary level than the knowledge gained by graduates of bachelor's programmes and specialists who entered the workforce 1-2 years prior.
