On June 18^th 2011, a round-table discussion on ‘Energy-efficiency innovations in the service of society: implemented experience of municipal management and innovative exploitation of city services using the example of Germany (Muenchen Nord metropolis, city of Unterschleissheim)’ took place at the HSE Institute of Real-Estate Economics.

In April a new all-university elective course on Science, Technology and Innovation: Analysis, Strategies and Policy will be launched at the HSE. It will be delivered in English by leading HSE international professors as well as some visiting experts. Dirk Meissner, Deputy Head of the HSE Research Laboratory for Science and Technology Studies, and one of the authors of the course, told us more about the course, its structure and specifics.

At a recent meeting on the problems of applied research and innovative infrastructure development at the Higher School of Economics, the problems of the university’s development as a research center were considered. Leonid Gokhberg, First Vice Rector of the HSE, told us more about this issue.

On December 7th 2011, an international seminar entitled ‘Russian and European Technology Platforms: Development of Cooperation’ organized by the HSE Research Laboratory for Economics of Innovation took place at the Higher School of Economics.

On the 18^th of November, Professor Arnoud Boot from the University of Amsterdam gave a public lecture at the inaugaral ICEF International conference. Its title was ‘Banking at the Crossroads: How to deal with Marketability and Complexity?’
