24th HSE Open Tourist Rally

On September 26 and 27, 2015, the traditional HSE Open Tourist Rally will be held. Students and staff with families from all HSE campuses, as well as friends of HSE from other Moscow universities, will be able to take part.

The rally was created by the HSE Extreme Sports Club and the HSE Office of Public Relations. Representatives from the university’s campuses in St. Petersburg and Nizhny Novgorod have already come to the event, and colleagues from Perm have been invited to join them.

The rally will take place approximately 6 km from the Khotkovo railway station (Yaroslavl direction). You can get there by car or by foot from the station. The official opening will take place on Saturday, September 26, at 3 pm; competitions, adventure games, and relay races will follow.

‘The open tourist rally is not only sports and outdoor activity’, explains Harry Rutberg, one of the HSE Extreme Sports Club founders, ‘It is also a get-together near a big bonfire in our HSE family circle, as well as music and singing to the guitar, drums and accordion. During the bonfire we’ll also showcase the club’s new tourist projects, including ‘Alternative St. Petersburg’, ‘Horse Trip in the Nizhny Novgorod Region’, ‘Sports Tourism School’, as well as skiing and snowboarding winter trips. Some of the club’s experienced members will share their experiences from the water and mountain expeditions we ran this summer’.

Detailed information on the rally will be published on a special webpage on VK (in Russian). You can also contact Alexey Bashlykov, head of the organizing committee and second-year student in the Faculty of Computer Science, on his VK page or by phone at 8-916-614-0237.

The HSE Extreme Sports Student Club has been organizing trips and competitions in winter and summer sports for HSE students, staff and their friends for 16 years. You can learn more about the Club and its upcoming events on its website or VK group.
