On March 1st a roundtable discussion entitled ‘Germany, Russia and Europe:Chances for the Growing Integration’took place at the HSE. The event was organized on the initiative of the ‘Liberal Mission’Foundation with the support of Friedrich Naumann Foundation. Werner Hoyer, Minister of State at the Foreign Office of Germany spoke at the meeting.
In January 2010 nine students of the HSE Faculty of Public Administration went on an internship to Paul Cézanne University Aix-Marseille III, in Aix-en Provence, France.
On February 18th Isak Froumin, Academic Supervisor of the HSE Institute for the Development of Education, met with a delegation from the University of Erfurt, Germany, at the HSE.
On March 1st the deadline passed for HSE students to enroll for the Summer School on ‘Comparative Public Administration. Experience of Great Britain’run by London Metropolitan University . Pat Gray, Deputy Head of the Department of Law, Governance and International Relations, London Met, told us more about this project.
On February 16th the HSE Institute for the Development of Education held a seminar. Professor James Banks gave a report on ‘Race, Ethnicity, and Education:The Search for Explanations’. You can watch a video of the event here.
On February 15th Zuzana Fungáčová, a member of BOFIT —Bank of Finland Institute for Economies in Transition, Helsinki, Finland, presented her reports entitled ‘Market Power in the Russian Banking Industry’and ‘Determinants of bank interest margins in Russia:Does bank ownership matter?’ as part of a research seminar of the HSE Department of Banking.
