Step into the Future

Strategic Management in Logistics MA students have taken part in the international conference ‘Research and Technology – Step into the Future’. The event was held at the Transport and Telecommunication Institute in Riga, Latvia.

The conference brings together young researchers from Latvia and other countries who share interdisciplinary interests and who are working on developing their research projects. Participation in the conference helps students present their research, find a platform for collaboration with their colleagues, develop and improve their communications skills and gain valuable discussion experience.

Anastasia Berezina and Anastasia Pukhova, 1st year Strategic Management in Logistics students, shared their impressions of the conference:

In November 2015 Irina Yatskiv, Professor at Riga’s Transport and Telecommunication Institute, delivered a series of lectures on Methodology of Research in Management: Theory Logistics Integration and Research Methods in Logistics at the HSE Campus in St. Petersburg. During her visit, Professor Yatskiv also talked about research opportunities for students at the Latvian institute.  Once we heard about the conference Research and Technology – Step into the Future we decided to take part.

The Conference’s academic agenda included plenary sessions and presentations by young participants. A lot of reports were presented at sessions on Computer Problems of the Information Society and Transport and Logistics.

We presented our report based on results of research conducted at the HSE Campus in St. Petersburg  and led by Valery Lukinskiy, Head of the Department of Logistics and Supply Chain Management. Our international colleagues rated the project highly, noted how topical the research is and said it should be developed further. Collected papers from the conference have been published.

We would like to thank the administration of the Transport and Telecommunication Institute for their hospitality, productive engagement with HSE and are grateful for the opportunity to take part in this TSI event and to present the results of our research.
