8.3%

is the average increase in compensation that Russian workers see after completing additional vocational training.

In the public sector, the returns from additional vocational training are lower than in the private sector. In these two sectors, the increase in compensation after training is 5.14% and 9.75%, respectively.

These data are presented in a dissertation by Pavel Travkin, junior researcher HSE’s Laboratory for Labour Market Studies, entitled ‘The Impact of Additional Vocational Training on Employee Compensation.’

More details on the results of the study will be available on November 14 on the OPEC.ru website.
