HSE Rector Awarded Order ‘For Merit to the Fatherland (III Class)’
On May 18, 2017 President Vladimir Putin signed Decree No. 215 ‘On bestowing state awards of the Russian Federation’.
The order ‘For Merit to the Fatherland’ was established in 1994. It is awarded for outstanding accomplishments related to strengthening Russian statehood, the social and economic development of the country, research activity, development of culture and the arts and so on.
Yaroslav Kuzminov was awarded the order ‘For Merit to the Fatherland (III Class)’ ‘for achievements in research activity, education development, training competent specialists and many years of diligent work’.
On November 27, the HSE Academic Council held an awards ceremony dedicated to the university’s 25th anniversary. The meeting saw the participation of representatives of the Russian President, members of government, and members of the Russian Federal Assembly. Governmental awards were given to a number of HSE employees for their tremendous accomplishments.
On November 15, 2017, Russian President Vladimir Putin presided at a ceremony to present state awards at St Catherine Hall in the Grand Kremlin Palace. HSE Rector Yaroslav Kuzminov was awarded the Order ‘For Merit to the Fatherland (III Class)’.
HSE Academic Supervisor Evgeny Yasin was awarded the P.A. Stolypin Medal (I Class) and HSE Rector Yaroslav Kuzminov was awarded the P.A. Stolypin Medal (II Class). Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev awarded them on June 8, 2017.
The corresponding directive, No. 662-r 'On Awards by the Government of the Russian Federation', was signed by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev on April 11, 2017.
Mikhail Berger, Professor at the Faculty of Communications, Media, and Design, and Sergey Karaganov, Dean of the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs have been awarded the Russian Federation Government Media Prize.
The Government of the Russian Federation has expressed its gratitude the Director of the HSE Centre for Labour Market Studies (CLMS), Vladimir Gimpelson, and the Director of the HSE Institute for Social Policy (ISP), Lilia Ovcharova, for their hard work and professional contributions.
