The new ranking of entrepreneurial universities published for the first time by the ‘Expert’ analytical centre features 38 Russian universities, 16 of which are participants in the Project 5-100. HSE took 6th place among Russian universities and 2nd place (after MIPT) among participants in the Project 5-100.

The ranking assesses the potential of universities to train business leaders. Only external sources of information are used for the assessment. A distinctive feature of the ranking is the application of international databases, which makes it possible to compare Russian universities with international ones, identifying gaps and areas for improvement.

The ranking methodology focuses on start-ups founded by university graduates, the number of graduates who are founders of these companies, and investments in these projects, as well as website visits.

The databases consulted include SimilarWeb, Apptopia, Crunchbase, Startup Ranking, and AngelList.
