'We Find Creative Work for Robots'

Contrary to what sci-fi lovers might expect, robots are not trying to enslave the human race, but instead are engaged in much more peaceful things like performing onstage. This is the type of creative application that the company Robots City, whose IT department is currently headed by HSE MIEM graduate Sergei Borhsenius, has found for robots. In the latest edition of Success Builder, Sergei discusses why robots are able to read Shakespeare sonnets, but haven’t yet made it to Hamlet; what future programmers should prepare for; and how an introverted mathematician can become a manager.

Several HSE graduates worked at the Olympic Games, which recently came to a close in Rio. Elena Stenkina, Daria Smirnova, and Evgenia Dolina told the HSE news service how they came into the sports industry thanks to HSE, even though several years ago they couldn’t even imagine having anything to do with sports.

'You Just Have to Create a Business out of Whatever Moves You'

When starting your own business, it’s often important to do things yourself at first. Sooner or later you’ll reach a point when everything starts working without your help. In the latest edition of Success Builder, HSE alumnus Alexander Braylovskiy, the founder of the cafe chain Receptor, discusses how to combine business informatics with Feng Shui, how to learn from your mistakes, how to write your own music, and how to remotely manage a chain of cafes with the help of an effective ERP system that he developed himself.

'We Want to Show Our Guests All the Best Russia Has to Offer'

For many foreigners, Russia is still considered a region of extreme tourism. In the latest edition of Success Builder, Anastasia and Alexei talk about how easy it was for them to start a business after graduating from HSE, what is complicated about reconstructing a historic landmark, why foreigners like farm products for breakfast, and how to benefit during times of crisis.

'Building Satellites Is Truly a Dream Come True'

The Russian engineer is no longer someone in an oversized sweater who likes the mountains and spends all their time in a garage tinkering with engines. Today’s engineers create developmental constructions for elementary school children. They study the economics of the space market and put the satellites they design into orbit. In the latest edition of Success Builder, MIEM graduate Anton Sivkov discusses how satellites are different from Legos, what  Star Trek  can add to a good education, and why there is no need to wear tin foil hats, even at a time when space is teeming with satellites.
