We had a Lot of Opposition

Sir Michael Barber, a former Chief Adviser on Delivery to the British Prime Minister, Tony Blair, the head of McKinsey’s Global Education Practice, and a Visiting Professor and a member of the HSE International Advisory Committee told HSE News Service if we can compare institutions with their graduates’ Unified State Exam results, how to pay teachers bonuses, and what mistakes British reformers made and how Russia can avoid repeating these.

Facebook: the Platform of Success

On October 22nd Robert Johnson, Director of Engineering at Facebook, gave a talk at the Faculty of Business Informatics of the Higher School of Economics, invited by the Department of Innovations and Business in Information Technologies. His talk was devoted to the rise of Facebook from 10 million to half a billion active users.

‘We Managed to Broaden the Programme of Education’

Elena Guseletova, Head of the HSE Faculty of Public Administration Department of International Cooperation, told us about the results of this year’s summer schools organized by the Faculty.

On August 23rd the ICABEEP (International Confederation for the Advancement of Behavioral Economics and Economic Psychology) Summer School started its work at the Higher School of Economics. On December 17th the graduation ceremony for the HSE School of Russian Studies programme entitled took place at the HSE. For the last six months international students have been studying the specifics of Russian politics, economics and culture and have been acquainting themselves with the peculiarities of studying, working and living in Moscow.
