HSE Students to Complete Management Internship at EFKO
EFKO, a Russian food manufacturer and one of the country’s largest agro-industrial holdings, has launched the Assistants programme in partnership with HSE University. This practice-oriented module gives selected HSE students the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of management directly from EFKO’s Chairman of the Board and Innovation Director.

HSE University–Nizhny Novgorod Students Win GORKYCODE City Hackathon
This was the second hackathon organised by the Analytical Centre of Nizhny Novgorod and the city’s Digital Transformation Department. Eighteen student teams from the city's major higher education institutions participated, spending 52 hours developing innovative, AI-powered digital products designed to benefit Nizhny Novgorod and its residents.

HSE Students Win Eventiada Awards 2025
Following the results of the 2025 Eventiada international communications awards, students of the School of Communication at HSE’s Faculty of Creative Industries won in key youth categories, including Student of the Year and Best Youth ESG Project. The award ceremony took place at the end of November at the press centre of MIA Rossiya Segodnya.

HSE Students Among Top 10 Finalists of POC CTF
Five students from the HSE Tikhonov Moscow Institute of Electronics and Mathematics (MIEM HSE) have ranked among the top ten finalists of the major cybersecurity competition POC CTF. The final, held in Seoul (Republic of Korea), brought together 50 students and professionals representing leading global companies and universities in the field of cybersecurity.

Techarena Training Camp in Sports Programming Held at HSE University
The HSE University Faculty of Computer Science has hosted the third Techarena Challenge competition and the HSE Techarena Training Camp. More than 130 teams from Russian and international universities took part, competing to solve an optimisation problem. The on-site round, which was scored individually, lasted four hours.

HSE Master’s Student Becomes Seven-Time Russian Motor Racing Champion
In October, Mikhail Simonov reaffirmed his title as the Russian ring racing champion in the premier TCR Russia class, becoming the youngest champion in the history of this category. The racing champion is a second-year student in the Master’s Programme in International Sports Management, Marketing, and Law at HSE University. In an interview with the HSE News Service, he shared his perspective on how to succeed both in professional sports and in academics.

HSE University Holds HSE CS × BRICS Ideathon
On November 9, 2025, the HSE CS × BRICS Ideathon—a large-scale intensive event for students aimed at developing international project skills and finding solutions to current challenges facing BRICS countries—took place at HSE University’s Pokrovsky Bulvar campus. The event was organised by the Multilateral Strategic Projects Office with the support of the BRICS Expert Council–Russia , the Faculty of Computer Science (FCS), and the HSE FCS Hackathon Club

HSE Students Show Outstanding Results at Prestigious CTF Competitions
In late October 2025, HSE University students achieved outstanding results in several Capture the Flag (CTF) competitions on information security. Five students joined the Moscow national team, which won the Russian Sports Programming Championship, while three other HSE teams became finalists and winners of the UralCUP CTF and the Kuban CTF tournaments. The CTF Academy, an initiative that brings together students and teachers, has served as a central hub for building HSE's CTF community.

Cardiogenetics of the Future: Sequencing Helps Treat Heart Disease
Future cardiologists, geneticists, and IT specialists gathered at HSE University to learn how to 'read' DNA for diagnosing cardiovascular diseases. They explored modern sequencing methods and the complexities of working with digital twins of cardiac patients.
