HSE University Welcomes New International Faculty Members
In early December, Vice Rector Alexey Koshel hosted his traditional welcome meeting with new international faculty members. In 2025, HSE University welcomes 44 successful candidates for tenure-track positions and postdoctoral fellowships.
HSE University Launches Development of Domestic 6G Communication Technologies Based on Sub-Terahertz Microelectronics
HSE University has launched a large-scale research and engineering initiative to develop domestic technologies for next-generation 6G communication systems. The project is being carried out by the team of the Strategic Technological Project 'Trusted 6G Communication Systems Technology Suite' implemented under the Priority 2030 programme.
Strategic Technological Projects Launched at HSE University
HSE University has launched a few strategic technological projects aimed at achieving the institution’s target development model. These projects focus on creating a portfolio of innovative products and services that fall under three key areas: socio-economic, science, and technology foresight, as well as 6G communication technologies and artificial intelligence.
‘MIEM’s Task is Training Specialists Who Can Ensure the Country's Technological Superiority’
On March 4, 2025, Telecom Day was held at the HSE Tikhonov Moscow Institute of Electronics and Mathematics (MIEM). Telecommunications is a key area of education at MIEM, and the event attracted experts from technology companies, teachers of the institute who are engaged in project and research activities in the field, as well as students interested in acquiring professional skills in this area.
HSE Scientists Take Important Step Forward in Development of 6G Communication Technologies
Researchers at HSE MIEM have successfully demonstrated the effective operation of a 6G wireless communication channel at sub-THz frequencies. The device transmits data at 12 Gbps and maintains signal stability by automatically switching when blocked. These metrics comply with international 6G standards. An article published on arXiv, an open-access electronic repository, provides a description of certain elements of the system.
MIEM HSE Establishes Telecommunications Research Institute
The institute will conduct fundamental and applied research in the development, analysis, and application of communication technologies with their subsequent commercialisation, as well as train development engineers for the telecom industry. Professor Evgeny Koucheryavy, Director of the MIEM Telecommunications Research Institute, has spoken to the HSE News Service about the goals, objectives, strategy and structure of the new organisation.
HSE Scientists Leverage AI to Accelerate Advancement of 5G and 6G Wireless Communication Systems
The HSE Artificial Intelligence Centre has developed software for modelling radio channels in 5G and 6G wireless networks, based on ray tracing and machine learning techniques. Their software solutions enable modelling radio wave propagation between transmitters and receivers and can convert ray tracing data into a frame sequence format, configure and train neural networks based on this data, and subsequently save the trained models.
