A delegation from the Ethiopian Institute of Policy Studies visited the Faculty of Social Sciences.
On 23 June, the Faculty of Social Sciences hosted a round table ‘Federalism in Russia and Ethiopia: Origins, Development and Prospects’ with the participation of scholars from the Ethiopian Policy Studies Institute. The Ethiopian delegation was led by Professor Petros Beyene, Director of the Institute. He shared his experience of working in Ethiopia's Transitional Government in the early 1990s, which drafted the country's current constitution, which provides for a transition to a federal model. On the FSN side, First Deputy Dean Mikhail Mironyuk took part in the roundtable, noting the stabilising role of federalism in Russia in recent years.

‘An Amazing Atmosphere’: Prospective Student from Turkey Makes a Virtual Visit to HSE Master’s Programmes
In November, the International Admissions team organized the first online Study Tour experience for prospective Master’s students. International students were able to attend online classes offered by different Master’s programmes and see first-hand what studying at HSE University is like. The aim of the initiative is to help international students make a more informed decision about which Master’s programme to apply to Tugrul Eroglu from Turkey, shares his experience.
Articles by HSE Researchers in Collection of Studies on Post-Soviet History
On December 26, 1991, the Soviet Union was dissolved and the Russian flag was raised over Kremlin. Taylor & Francis Group gathered a large collection of studies on Soviet and post-Soviet periods containing 150 research articles to celebrate the 25th anniversary of this event. Articles by staff from the School of Political Science were also included in the collection ‘The Dissolution of the Soviet Union: 25 Years On’. All the publications will be available free of charge until the end of June 2017.

Leading British newspaper, The Independent, has published a list of the 10 best atlases, which includes the atlas created by a team of authors from the HSE Faculty of Politics.
