Employment history

Zumrad Kataeva holds a PhD from the University of Kentucky, USA with a doctoral research on the changed status of the academic profession and quality of faculty life in the contemporary Republic of Tajikistan. She is a recipient of the Doctoral Fellowship Program of the Open Society Institute.

Zumrad has worked both in educational and research institutions in Central Asia and USA as well as international organizations. She has also served as a consultant for UNDP and UNICEF.

Zumrad is a part of the research team of the multinational project on higher education transformations and institutional diversity in post-Soviet countries; works in HSE since January 2016.

IOE Study Featured in International Academic Journal

A recent study by IOE research fellow Zumrad Kataeva has been published in International Higher Education, a quarterly journal by the Boston College Center for International Higher Education.

IOE Researchers Speak at 2017 CIES Conference in Atlanta

On March 5–9, 2017, the U.S. city of Atlanta, Georgia hosted the 2017 Conference of the Comparative and International Education Society (CIES). Seeking the most diverse engagement in the venue’s multiple opportunities for expertise exchange, debate, and academic networking, a representative team of experts with IOE’s leading research & advisory centres took part in this year’s CIES event. Presentations were given by Isak Froumin, Oleg Leshukov, Elena Minina, Pavel Sorokin, Zumrad Kataeva, Martin Carnoy, Tatiana Khavenson, and Andrey Zakharov.
