University Quality, Academic Performance, and Work Experience Are Important Signals in the Labour Market
People with higher education enjoy higher salaries and are at considerably less risk of unemployment. The World Bank estimates that an extra year of university studies in Russia yields an 8% return on investment. The quality of a university, the specific field of study, and students’ individual strategies are all key factors in ensuring success in the labour market. These topics were discussed by Viktor Rudakov, Senior Research Fellow and Deputy Head of the International Laboratory for Institutional Analysis of Economic Reforms, Assistant Professor of the Faculty of Economic Sciences, HSE University, in an open lecture on ‘How and Where to Study to Become Successful in the Labour Market’.

Stanislav Avdeev has been awarded for the best master's thesis in economics
Stanislav Avdeev, Research Assistant at CInSt, has received an award in the best master's thesis competition in economics held by the European University at Saint Petersburg. The topic of the paper is "Zero Returns to Higher Education: Evidence from a Natural Experiment". Victor Rudakov, Research Fellow at CInSt, Senior Research Fellow at LLMS, is a supervisor of Stanislav's thesis.

Russian Summer School on Institutional Analysis 2019
We can hardly believe it, but the 2019 session of RSSIA has already come to an end! We received more than 100 applications, but only 24 of the strongest research proposals were accepted. Participants came from a wide range of countries: China, Belgium, Germany, India, Iran, Italy, Philippines, and Russia.
