Autumn School "Resources for Psychological Wellbeing"

How are motivation, self-regulation and well-being related? What are the socio-cultural predictors of psychological well-being? What are the basic psychological needs of human beings? How does changing the goal affect well-being? These and many other questions were discussed by the Laboratory staff within the framework of the autumn school "Resources of psychological well-being" for students, postgraduates and scientific-pedagogical workers (18-22 September).

6th World Congress on Positive Psychology

Lab staff members (Dmitry Leontiev, Martin F. Lynch, Tamara O. Gordeeva, Sergei Ishanov) took part in the 6th World Congress on Positive Psychology in Melbourne (Australia), July 18-21, 2019. About 1600 participants from 50 countries were registered at the congress. 

Laboratory Staff at the 9th Conference on Positive Psychology in Budapest

At the end of June, the 9th Conference on Positive Psychology (ECPP) was held in Budapest, Hungary. The topic this year is “Positive Psychology for the Prosperity of Europe in Transition.” The conference was organized on the basis of the University of Budapest and brought together more than seven hundred participants from 66 countries.

HSE Staff Members Awarded Status of Tenured Professor

On June 22, several HSE lecturers and staff members were awarded the status of Tenured Professor at a meeting of HSE Academic Council. Sixteen HSE staff members became Distinguished Professors at the Higher School of Economics for the first time.

Exploring Happiness, Well-being and Eudaimonia

For psychologists interested in questions of human wellbeing, a recent symposium held by the HSE International Laboratory of Positive Psychology of Personality and Motivation provided an excellent opportunity to discuss the aspects and forms of happiness. For two days on June 1-2, half a dozen scholars took part in the symposium, entitled ‘Happiness beyond well-being’, which consisted of several roundtables on the theoretical and methodological aspects of the problem.

The new institute is headed by Vasily Klucharev, a professor at the Higher School of Economics, who previously worked as Head of the School of Psychology.
