On February 25, 2026, the second Arctic Research Seminar, entitled  “Developments and Transformations in European Union Arctic Policy before and after 2022,”  was held at HSE University. The event was organised by the Centre for Interdisciplinary Arctic Studies at Institute for Economics of Natural Resources and Climate Change, HSE University.

On February 10, 2026, the Centre for Centre for Interdisciplinary Arctic Studies at Institute for Economics of Natural Resources and Climate Change, HSE University, held its first Arctic Research Seminar, entitled “The Greenland Question: Factors, Prospects and Development Scenarios.” Experts examined the impact of the Greenland agenda on transatlantic relations, security, and global markets.

On December 11, 2025, a special event was held to mark the launch of the Institute for Economics of Natural Resources and Climate Change at the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs of HSE University. The programme featured presentations by the heads of the Institute’s divisions outlining its key areas of work, the launch of a special issue of the journal  Contemporary World Economy, and an expert discussion on the outcomes of COP30 in Brazil.

The English-language edition of  Russia in Global Affairs  has published an article titled  “Will the Arctic Cooperation System Accommodate Global Geopolitical Changes?”  by Anna Chistikova and Matvey Chistikov, Junior Research Fellows at the Laboratory for Climate Change Economics, and Irina Strelnikova, Associate Professor at the School of International Regional Studies.

The delegation of the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs of the Higher School of Economics University visited the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum held on June 5-8, 2024.

Founded in 2011, the Academic Writing Centre strives to help HSE University faculty improve their academic and research-writing skills in English. HSE University bulletin Okna spoke to several teachers and researchers who have used the AWC’s services over the decade.

On March 30, 2021 the School of International Regional Studies of the Faculty ofWorld Economy and International Affairs, HSE University within the framework of the permanent online seminars«Contemporary Area Studies», organized a meeting with a Bert Van Thilborgh, Lector at Thomas More University. The topic of the meeting was "Trends and future in this transitional roaring twenties of the 21st Century (2021-2030)".
