Research that Will Help Fight Corruption

HSE University Ranks 115th in RePEc World Ranking  

The RePEc rating (Research Papers in Economics) is based on publication activity data in the field of economics and related disciplines. In recent years, HSE University has consistently ranked first among Russian universities, and it continues to steadily climb the global ranking, overtaking well-known, centuries-old foreign universities. In the latest European ranking, HSE University took 46th place. In the world ranking, the university has ranked 115th (an increase of 4 places in the space of one month).

FES International Research Seminar

Starting from the 2016-2017 academic year Faculty of Economic Sciences has launched a new international seminar series. The series host many established scholars as well as young promising economists from various respectable universities worldwide.

‘If You Are Dedicated and Hardworking, You Will Get a Top Education’

Coming from Lebanon but with personal ties to Russia, Hisham Haydar will be starting the second year of the Master’s in Economics: Research Programme this September. The strength of HSE University’s standing in international rankings led Hisham to choose HSE in Moscow for his advanced training in economics. In the hope that other international students will be motivated to apply to HSE, he recently shared his perspective on everything from the application process to the workload to life in Moscow.

His joint paper with Güneş Gökmen (NES) entitled "Minorities and Long-Run Development: Persistence of Armenian and Greek Influence in Turkey" has won the best general interest paper award at the Armenian Economic Association annual conference.

A Busy and Productive Year

Dr. Eren Arbatli, Assistant Professor at the Department of Theoretical Economics, joined the HSE after finishing a PhD programme at Brown University (USA) in 2013. Eren's spouse and co-author, Dr. Ekim Arbatli, is Assistant Professor at HSE's Faculty of Politics. The HSE LooK spoke to Dr. Arbatli about his current and planned research.

New Research Trends in ‘Biology and Behaviour in a Political Economy’

On March 14, 2014, the HSE is running a workshop ‘Biology and Behaviour in a Political Economy’.
