Managing HSE University’s engagement in searching for and supporting talented school and university students, assisting high school students in professional self-determination

subject schools for gifted school students
career guidance projects, intensive examination periods, meetings and training sessions for gifted school students

Coordinating interaction between HSE University and the co-organising universities of intellectual competitions, the Russian Council of School Student Olympiads

Coordinating and supervising the School of Physics and Mathematics under MIEM HSE

International Olympiad Competitions for University Students and Graduates Supported by VK and Avito

This year’s International Olympiad Competitions for University Students and Graduates, held in 38 subjects, have taken place. Both rounds — qualifying and final — were held in an online format. HSE University and VK Engineering and Mathematics School were the partners of the ‘Computer Systems and Networks’ category, while Avito were the partners for the ‘Applied Mathematics and Computer Science’ category.

Submarine and French Confectioner's Shop—Winners of the Top Class Research Competition Announced

This year’s final stage of Top Class, the All-Russian Competition of Schoolchildren’s Research and Projects, held by HSE University, has come to a close. About a thousand 8^th—11^th graders from 7 countries and 69 regions of Russia participated in the contest. The winners and runners-up were announced at the closing ceremony in the HSE Cultural Centre. They received special prizes from partner companies.

‘Why Isn’t the World Triangular?’: HSE Opens University for Kids

Begun in September, the joint project of HSE University and Moscow’s Polytechnic Museum traditionally lasts until May. HSE News Service attended some classes of the university, where we learned, alongside the university’s young students, how to cross a tightrope without falling, what the nature of mutations is, and how the Russian language is structured.

Golden HSE 2018 Winners Announced

The winners are 16 staff members in seven ‘golden’ categories and 21 students in the ‘Silver Nestling’ category. The winners of the ‘Golden Citation’, which is awarded to the most cited HSE scholar, have also been announced. The awards ceremony was held on November 27, on the HSE's birthday.

‘HSE Offers Solutions Aimed at the Future…’

On November 27, the HSE Academic Council held an awards ceremony dedicated to the university’s 25th anniversary. The meeting saw the participation of representatives of the Russian President, members of government, and members of the Russian Federal Assembly. Governmental awards were given to a number of HSE employees for their tremendous accomplishments.

Dahl’s Explanatory Dictionaryand other linguistic games

On February 13 th , professors and students from the School of Linguistics held a session of linguistic games for the Russian Language finalists of the Olympiad “Vysshaya Proba” (“the purest tint”). Katerina Goncharova, Lyubov Klimenchenko, and Nikita Medyankin headed by the Associate Professor Vladimir Fayer conducted the linguistic games designed by several professors from the School of Linguistics.
