Iliya Kiriya is the author of over 30 publications (1 monograph, a number of methodical brochures and articles) on the development of mass communications in Russian, English and French languages.
Iliya Kiriya is a member of the Observatory of Evolutions in Cultural Industries (Center of Human Sciences Paris Nord), France.
He was the organizer of two international conferences:

I. Kiriya is one of the organizers of the international educational and research project ‘Media Management in the Contemporary Environment’ (the Higher School of Journalism and the KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden, Stockholm).
In 2009 I. Kiriya was one of the supervisors of the research at the HSE Center for Fundamental Studies Laboratory of Media on ‘Media Capital and Multimedia’.
In 2010 he continued work at the HSE Center for Fundamental Studies Laboratory of Media Studies.
Consulting and training
I. Kiriya has been a consultant for Mechel, Avtovaz, Stora Enso, Huawei Technologies, Credit Swiss, Point Passat, United Communications and others in PR and corporate communications.
He has been actively training for 4 years.
HSE International Summer University to Offer Lectures in Partnership with Pompeu Fabra University
As a part of long-standing cooperation between HSE University and the Pompeu Fabra University, this summer, International Summer University in collaboration with Barcelona International Summer School (BISS) will organize a series of open lectures for participants of both summer programmes. Some of HSE Summer University courses are still open for registration.
Online Meetups with International Summer University Professors
In the run-up to the HSE International Summer University, which will open on June 20, a series of special online meetups are currently held in association with HSE’s eLearning Office. The meetups give international students an opportunity to meet HSE University professors who teach courses during the Summer University programme. American Professor Speaks with HSE Students Online about Media Imperialism
American professor Oliver Boyd-Barrett, author of the book Media Imperialism, one of the biggest studies of the contemporary media landscape, is among the international teachers recruited to deliver remote instruction at HSE University this year. His research interests include media, propaganda and international news agencies.
HSE Summer University 2020 to Be Held Online
HSE Summer University will begin on July 15 this year. All courses will be taught online via Zoom. The registration deadline has been extended until July 1, 2020.

Different Perspectives and Different People in HSE’s ‘Semester in Moscow’ Programme
Adrian Murillo Ramirez-Moreno is from Mexico City and is currently a third-year student at Universidad Anáhuac México where he studies International Relations. Nicholas Viggiano, from New Jersey, USA, is a third-year student at the University of Maryland, where he is pursuing a double degree in Russian and Environmental Science. Both are studying in HSE’s ‘Semester in Moscow’ Programme. The programme not only allows students to study Russian language at any level, but to design their own curriculum—students have their pick of any English-taught courses they choose, regardless of field. Students are accommodated in the HSE dormitories and receive an official transcript upon completion of the semester.
HSE Continues its Ascent in QS World University Rankings by Subject
The latest results of the QS World University Rankings by Subject demonstrate that Russian universities are continuing to make great strides in international rankings. Among the Russian universities that made the rankings, HSE tops the list with 16 specific subjects and 3 broad subject areas entering the rankings. Compared to last year, HSE has improved its performance in almost all subjects.
Greek Communications Professor Embraces Moscow Life
Originally from Greece, Pános Kompatsiáris was attracted to join the Higher School of Economics because of the university’s reputation for exceptional working conditions and fostering career development. Having spent the last ten years in a variety of cities, including Edinburgh and Berlin, Professor Kompatsiáris brings his background in economics, cultural studies and art theory to his current position as Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Communications, Media, and Design at HSE.
