The goal is to study the nature, reasons and perspectives of the model of US-Russia relations, their influence on global and regional orders, as well as develop methodology and theoretical basis of the research of the “new Cold War”
The empirical base of research consists of “open” sources”: Russian and foreign media, public speeches of politicians, statistical data of the international institutions, national agencies and independent organizations. The academic literature and analytical reports related to the topic also were used
The methodology is passed on recognition and detailed research of mutual influence between US-Russia relations and evolution of the international economic and political order. Research is based on such theories of international relations as structural realism and neoclassical realism, what assumes focus on reaction of actors on structural challenges and influence of actors’ policies on evolution of structure of international relations
The results of the research: the research will contribute to the theory of foreign policy and bilateral relations in the sphere of interconnection between domestic and international factors determining agenda of the bilateral relations between great powers as well as influence of these relations on the development of international order.
The main methodological result of the research will be development of methodology of prediction and research of the future international economic and political order depending on relations between the key powers in the world, in particular, depending on how exactly will be overcome the new US-Russia confrontation
Level of implementation the results of the project will be implemented in the work on recommendations and analytical papers for executive bodies (Presidential Administration, Ministry of Foreign Affairs) and private companies. The outcomes of the research will be also used for educational purposes, for creation of the new educational and research programs of the faculty of world economics and international affairs
