Methods of classification and systematization of information, quantitative and qualitative methods of data collection and processing, such, as: interviewing of visitors and telephone survey, the network analysis based on studying of digital traces and a research case method.
Empirical base of research
Surveys of visitors of the action "Night of the Museums" which is carried out in several creative spaces created in revitalized territories are conducted; the case of forming and developing cultural and event activity of one of the most noticeable creative spaces of St. Petersburg – public space "Sevkabel Port" is constructed.
Results of research
The conducted research allowed to develop classification of the cultural events held in revitalized spaces on the basis of two approaches – on gain of the cultural, social and economic capital and on orientation of actions; to develop classification of revitalized spaces on the basis of criteria of initial and design use of revitalized spaces; to characterize various formats of cultural activities which is carried out in revitalized spaces; to reveal essential characteristics of visitors’ behavior of the cultural events which are held in revitalized spaces on the basis of the conducted sociological surveys; to develop recommendations about the organization of activity and to advance of the creative spaces which are carrying out cultural and event activity in revitalized spaces.
Level of implementation, recommendations on implementation or outcomes of the implementation of the results
Results of the conducted research allowed developing recommendations about development of cultural and event activity in those developer projects which have no sufficient resources for quick start of implementation of the project. In detail-studied project of creation of public space, "Sevkabel Port" belongs to such projects. This group of recommendations includes outputs about the choice of the corresponding format of creative space ("popular" or "creative") depending on a location of the revitalized space, about inclusion of cultural and event activity in marketing programs of development of revitalized space. The second group of recommendations treats creation of event management in creative spaces and to creation in them the favorable, creative atmosphere attracting different groups of visitors. In this group of recommendations it should be noted an output about emphasis at the choice of the correct model of capitalization creative the practicing, the creative spaces realized in the majority; about a combination of daily and event cultural activity; about attraction to participation in cultural events of inhabitants of nearby territories. The third group of recommendations raised the questions of advance and branding of revitalized spaces on the basis of cultural and event activity. Here conclusions were drawn on need to mutually connect a brand of creative spaces with a historical context of territories, about use of historical and cultural artifacts at promotion of developer projects, about targeting of cultural and event activity at target audiences of the implemented developer projects. Developed based on the conducted research of the recommendation can be used by the regional governing bodies supervising issues of territorial development and investments, culture and tourism. Also recommendations are able to allow developers to develop the strategies of implementation of projects promoting creation not only the housing and business estate, but also welfare infrastructure. It is especially relevant within implementation of the program for renovation of "a gray belt" by various formats of revitalization. Recommendations can be also useful to the managers of creative spaces aimed at search of the most effective forms of work with different groups of visitors.
