Methods used: analysis based on historical sources relevant to the research, analysis quantitative data, definition of the main traditional and, particularly, new forms of tourism, field study in various regions of Russia in order to describe the specifics of new forms of touristic mobility and their infrastructural aspects.
The empirical base of the research: the research is based on a description of common forms of tourism in Russia. The study provides an analysis of tourism development programmes both national and regional. Some cases that were selected and analysed gave an opportunity to formulate main tendencies inherent to the development of tourism industry in Russia. Furthermore, the report contains a study on social network “Vkontakte” defining and determining the content and network coverage of the main directions of tourist activity in such regions as the Voronezh Oblast, Kirov Oblast, Krasnoyarsk Krai, Krasnodar Krai, the Republic of Dagestan, North Ossetia, Karelia, Perm Krai, Chelyabinsk Oblast.
Project results: the research formulates some conceptual statements on the main trends of the transformation of touristic mobility motivation structure and determines cultural, informational and infrastructural factors that influence the formation of such trends.
The research allows to expand a set of methodological tools for describing, analysing and quantifying modern forms of touristic mobility.
The degree of implementation, recommendations on implementation or the results of the implementation of the findings of the research paper: the report is recommended for by Federal, Regional and Municipal authorities, managers and employees of the institutes and organizations involved in tourist development, travel agencies’ managers and businessmen that implement commercial projects related to travel practises. The results of the project can be applied to the tourism development programs.
