Goal of research

Research of models of performance of innovation ecosystems in the Russian electric power sector. Assessment of the economic structure of the largest Russian cities and metropolitan areas and comparative analysis with the largest foreign cities and metropolitan areas that have a significant impact on economic growth.

Methodology

Information assembling and generalization (synthesis), systematization, comparative analysis of information from official statistical resources, legislative acts, analysis of practices.

Empirical base of research

Rosstat data,  data  of energy companies, academic and research papers of Russian and foreign specialists; information from different open issues.

Results of research

Specification of models of performance of innovation ecosystems in the Russian electric power sector as cooperation of stakeholders.

Development of algorithm for analysis of cooperation of economic agents in innovation ecosystems in the Russian electric power sector. Detection of key factors for interaction of economic agents in different mode.

Development of classification of   business models for companies in electric power sector.

Determination of the list of industries and sectors of the economy of Russian cities and metropolitan areas with the greatest potential for innovative development, the formation of research hypotheses of the possible impact of changes in the structure of the economy of the largest Russian cities and metropolitan areas on their contribution to economic growth

Level of implementation, recommendations on implementation or outcomes of the implementation of the results

The research results could be used for development regulation legislation, strategy and road maps for the Russian electric power sector, Russian smart energy system and Russian economy as a whole.  The results could be used for next economic and interdisciplinary researches of long-run development of the Russian economy and society (power sector development, evolution, transition processes, etc.)  Also, the results could be useful for preparation of training materials for higher professional education training courses in the fields of economics, management, state and municipal government.

The research results could be used to improve national urban development policies, as well as preparation of new legal acts regulating the implementation of regional policy at the federal level in accordance with the Strategy of spatial development of the Russian Federation for the period up to 2025, federal, regional and municipal programs in the field of socio-economic development of regions, cities and urban agglomerations. The results can also be used in the preparation of training materials for higher professional education training courses in the fields of public administration, regional economy.
