Students are required to take part in the campaign to draw up their individual course curriculum for the coming academic year.
Their main task is to select courses and a study group schedule.
What is the goal?
All students choose electives and time slots (schedules) for all courses (including core courses).
What does a completed selection look like?
You’ve selected places in lectures, seminars, and (if applicable) practical classes for the courses you want to include in your curriculum.
If you haven’t made or finalised your selection yet because you have not selected a timetable, then you agree to be allocated on a residual basis. After the conclusion of the campaign, your programme office will only be able to offer courses and groups that still have remaining places.
How to make your selection
Students use the Smartway system to choose courses and study groups. Smartway also displays a selection of HSE courses based on the personal characteristics of each student.
When is the campaign?
Smartway will become active during the different campaign stages.
In preview mode, you can view the list of available courses, their timetables, how they are implemented, and information about application selection criteria.
Submit applications for courses, including with those with additional selection.
Select study groups for each course in your individual curriculum and those added during the first selection round. In this stage, you will select all types of study groups within a course: lectures, seminars, and practical classes. If you cannot find a free place in one of these types of groups, then you cannot study on the course and must choose a different one.
Please see the website for the full campaign timeline and instructions for using the Smartway system.
The size of elective components can differ significantly between educational programmes. Your programme office will inform you by email of the details of the selection within your programme.
If you have any technical questions, use the ‘Contact tech support’ link in the Smartway system.
