A new student space has opened in room R309 at the HSE University complex on Pokrovsky Bulvar. This co-working space is designed for studying, working, learning about current technologies and their creators, and simply relaxing.

The space has desks for individual and team work, as well as a separate zone for relaxation and socialising, with a total capacity for 35 people. It is equipped with a Yandex Station featuring voice assistant Alice, along with a component-by-component image of her, or an exploded-view diagram that highlights HSE University’s contribution to the device’s creation. Twenty-four HSE university graduates participated in developing the first-generation Yandex Station. Furthermore, starting this academic year, HSE University’s Faculty of Computer Science is offering an applied master’s programme in hardware development for smart devices.

Visitors to the co-working space can use a photo booth equipped with a Yandex smart camera. A neural network will analyse the photo and compare it with various formulas, definitions, and theorems from physics, mathematics, and computer science to generate a unique technical compliment.

The space will host events with experts from Yandex Education and the Faculty of Computer Science, offering insights into modern technologies and providing tips and life hacks for education and career development.
