HSE University, in partnership with the charitable foundation Krug (Circle) Creative Association, has released a line of toys featuring the university’s crow mascot. The toys, handmade by people with disabilities, will be used as corporate gifts for various celebrations, including the university’s anniversary and New Year events.

— We firmly believe that doing good is easy, which is why we chose to create branded merchandise in collaboration with a charity. It is important for us to take a thoughtful approach to developing partnerships and to promote the values of our university.

The collaboration between the university and the charitable foundation began in 2024 and reflects HSE University's commitment to public engagement—one of its core values. The project not only promotes the university’s corporate brand but also reinforces the idea that doing good is easy. The Krug (Circle) Foundation focuses on supporting people with disabilities by addressing challenges related to communication, socialisation, and employment. Its beneficiaries are creative individuals with special mental health needs who take part in all stages of production at the foundation’s social enterprises.

One of these enterprises is a ceramic workshop, where a new interpretation of HSE University's mascot—The Crow—was created. Artist Elizaveta Chapidze portrayed the crow as floating freely in the air, perfectly capturing the spirit of the university: the absence of barriers to human thought and the ability to rise to any challenge. Each toy is not only a souvenir but also a contribution to supporting the talents of people with disabilities and promoting inclusion.

— When we launched this project, we had no doubt it would resonate with our colleagues and partners. But most important is the understanding that through our actions, we can make the world a little better.

The partnership between HSE University and the Krug Foundation is a step toward a more inclusive society, where everyone—regardless of their individual characteristics—can express themselves and be heard. The university plans to continue such initiatives, integrating social responsibility into its everyday activities.
