On June 1, the Library of Things of the HSE Event Organisation Office turned one year. On this day one year ago, the first application for obtaining items for an event was filed with the system, and now this service is a common tool for employees and students involved in arranging scientific, business, protocol, and other university events.
The Library of Things was created to make arranging events easier and to save organisers the hassle of repeatedly searching for and purchasing equipment for solving typical tasks. Thanks to this service, HSE employees can obtain required items faster and dedicate more attention to the content of the events.
In its first year of work, the Event Organisation Office team processed over 250 applications. During this time, the inventory of the Library of Things grew from 4 to 20 items. Today, it has mobile flipcharts, plaques, reception stands, and printers available (and very popular) for events. These things are almost continuously used at events throughout HSE University, along with lecterns, cubes, a steamer, and other things.
The collection also has its own popular choices like mirrors, which the staff and students often use not only for their intended purpose but also as a photo zone element at university events.

Manager of the Laboratory for Youth Politics
‘We would like to thank our colleagues from the Event Organisation Office for their prompt operation, responsiveness, and for the consistent high quality of their equipment. None of our events could happen without you.’
Svetlana Mchenskaya (in Russian)
Expert of the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs
‘When organising events on Pokrovka, we always receive timely reactions and due attention to our applications. Colleagues are always ready to meet us halfway, which is a great help when you are pressed for time before an event. Our cooperation leaves only positive impressions!’
Leading Expert of the HSE Academic Council Office
‘During this year, the HSE Academic Council Office often asked colleagues from the Event Organisation Office for help. Each time, we had the best impressions both from the staff's politeness and engagement and from the opportunities provided. The most striking example: this March, a completely new booth appeared literally overnight. Clearly, there was a lot of hard work behind this magic. We are very glad that people working in this department are so caring! Thank you for being with HSE University!’
To receive an item, review the current inventory (in Russian) and submit an application (in Russian) with the name and quantity of equipment needed, event dates, and contact details of the person in charge.
