The results of the Best Teachers 2026 voting have been published on the HSE website. As always, the final results were based on student voting, a survey of HSE alumni, and the outcomes of the Student Research Paper Competition. More than 700 individuals were named among the university’s best teachers.

Some teachers were recognised in several categories at once: student voting, the alumni survey, and as the academic supervisors of students who won the Student Research Paper Competition. Thirty-seven teachers were recognised in two categories, while two received awards in all three: Liliya Karachurina of the Institute of Demography, Faculty of Social Sciences, and Alina Bodrova of the School of Philological Studies, Faculty of Humanities.

This year, four HSE teachers retained their Best Teacher title for the 16th consecutive year, continuing their winning streak since the award was established at HSE University in 2011. They are Petr Rezvykh of the School of Philosophy and Cultural Studies, Faculty of Humanities; Boris Demeshev of the Big Data and Information Retrieval School, Faculty of Computer Sciences; Igor Kim of the Department of Theoretical Economics, Faculty of Economic Sciences; and Ilya Prakhov of the Department of Applied Economics, Faculty of Economic Sciences.

The full list of Best Teachers has been published for HSE’s campuses in Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, and Perm, and the list for St Petersburg is expected to be published next week.
