Course Selection for First Half of 2026/27 Academic Year Starts on September 3

Students are required to take part in the campaign to draw up their individual course curriculum for the coming academic period.

The main task for first-year bachelor’s and specialist students in the autumn campaign is to take entrance tests in English language and (if desired) select optional courses corresponding to their test scores.

Senior students will be able to supplement their selections made during the summer campaign by choosing a schedule and electives within the curriculum of their programme. First-year master’s students do not take part in the autumn selection campaign.

What do I have to choose?

Students select elective courses for their programme (where applicable) and a timetable for all courses (including core ones).

  Second-year master’s students must choose MagoLego courses (this will only be available during the second selection round on September 10).

  First-, second-, and final-year students of bachelor’s and specialist programmes must select courses in English language.

  All students will be able to select open optional courses.

Where do I make my selection?

Students use the SmartWay system to choose courses and study groups. SmartWay also lets each student view a personalised course selection.

When does the campaign take place?

SmartWay will become available during the corresponding stages of the campaign.

  Preview stage: September 3, 10:50 am–September 4, 10 am (MSK). In preview mode, you can see the list of available courses, their timetables, how they are implemented, and information about selection criteria.

  First selection round: September 4, 10:50 am–11:59 pm (MSK). Submit your applications for courses, including those with additional selection.

  Second selection round (time slot and course selection, including MagoLego): September 10, 10:50 am–11:59 pm (MSK). During the second round, you can only select courses that have a completed timetable.

Elective components can differ significantly between educational programmes. Your programme office will inform you by email of the details of the selection within your programme.
