Information Resources HSE: Guide for First Year Students

Starting at university is always a bit stressful, if only because there is so much new information to cram into your head, not just academic but organisational too. Where to go, who to ask, how can you not get muddled? Don’t panic!

Everything a first year needs to know (and not just first years by the way) can be found on the HSE’s electronic information resources.

All the information is ordered thematically. We’ve gathered a list of sites about programmes and teachers which students will use frequently. There is a section where you can read about particulars of the teaching process, grants, study abroad and student societies and organisations etc. There’s also a separate list of sites about research at the HSE.

HSE isn’t just about studying, there are loads of interesting events that have nothing to do with your courses - public lectures on current social and cultural issues, film viewings and discussions, tourist trips and sports competitions. All these have sections in the resources too.

And we haven’t forgotten about social networks. Of the many communities on Facebook and Vkontakte connected to the HSE, we’ve chosen the ones that are worth joining right away.

Have a successful academic year!
