What’s in Store for HSE Buildings Located on Bolshaya and Malaya Ordynka Streets

Instead of moving to Pokrovka (as originally planned), the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs will receive an additional building at 29 Malaya Ordynka Street, and its current buildings, located at 17 Malaya Ordynka and 47/7 Bolshaya Ordynka, will be renovated.

The faculty will thereby continue its work in its current location. During the reconstruction of Pokrovka, it became clear that the faculty had become too large for the new premises and that it would have to be moved again in 2 years. Therefore, in the interest of the ever-growing faculty, HSE University intends to acquire an additional building in the area that is within walking distance to its current location. This acquisition will nearly double the size of the faculty’s premises.

‘By September 1, all top-priority repairs at 17 Malaya Ordynka Street will be completed,’ said First Vice-Rector Alexander Shamrin.

The classrooms, corridors, co-working areas will be updated and equipped with modern furniture. This will significantly change the look and feel of the building

The First Vice Rector also added that the Great Hall at 47 Bolshaya Ordynka will be renovated and refurnished to meet modern standards. In addition, internet access will be improved at all sites of the Ordynka campus complex: students, faculty, and staff will now have access to high-speed internet.

By the beginning of the school year, the building at 17 Malaya Ordynka Street will be repaired. The lecture hall and courtyard located at 47 Bolshaya Ordynka will be renovated as well. Most important, by December, a new modern full-service cafeteria will be built at 29 Malaya Ordynka Street. In addition, a new co-working space will be added to the library located at Bolshaya Ordynka on the ground floor.
