Five Reasons to Go to HSE University Day

HSE Day is a good excuse to spend the last warm days of summer in Moscow’s most famous park with the whole family. The event offers fun activities and events for both parents and kids. There are also events for international students and staff.

Samovar Tea with Baranki

The Whole World at HSE (number 31 on the map)

At 2:30 PM, a procession by HSE’s international students in celebration of HSE’s many world cultures will commence. The parade will conclude at The Whole World at HSE site.

From 2 – 6 PM, the site will host a Russian tea house where guests can sip tea brewed in a real Russian samovar, munch on baranki (crunchy bread rings, traditionally eaten with tea), and participate in Russian language and culture trivia games.

Scientific Experiments

Science and Technology area (number 2 on the map)

If your child dreams of becoming a scientist and loves experiments, visit the Science and Technology site.

Guests of will be able to participate in visual experiments with an i-tracker from HSE’s Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience, as well as watch experiments conducted by the faculties of physics, chemistry, biology and biotechnology. Kids will get to learn what happens when various objects are cooled with liquid nitrogen and more.

Kids' Workshops and Amusement Park

HSE FAMILY area (Gorky Park Green School, number 13 on the map)

If you’re coming to HSE Day with the kiddos, you’ll probably want to make Gorky Park’s Green School your first stop. This is where the HSE Family site is located.

At the Green School, kids can create their own cartoon and participate in workshops on a variety of subjects—from robotics, to T-shirt painting, to building their own creation with construction toys. Outside the school, kids will be delighted by a thrilling illusion show and amusement park.
