On December 3, the Charity Xmas Festival was held at the HSE campus on Pokrovsky Boulevard. During the Christmas fair, 9 participating organisations collected over 211,000 roubles in charitable donations. HSE staff and students also donated 165 kg of clothing that will be given to the needy.
The following foundations took part in the event: ‘Prostranstvo obshcheniya’ (‘Communication Space’) centre, which is engaged in the development and socialization of children and adults with developmental disabilities; the creative association ‘Krug’ (‘Circle’); the foundations ‘Zhizn kak chudo’ (‘Life is a Miracle’), ‘Takie dela’ (‘Such Things’), ‘Podari zhizn’ (‘Give Life’), ‘Detskie serdtsa’ (‘Children's Hearts’), the Ray Foundation for animals, and ‘Lavka Radostey’ (‘Shop of Joy’); and HSE charity organization ‘Open Your Eyes’.
Since November 25, ‘Kind Boxes’ have been available in three HSE buildings for clothing donations. HSE students and staff have already donated about 165 kg of clothing.
The representatives of the ‘Lavka Radostey’ Foundation, which collects clothing for the needy, said that the clothing has already been sorted and soon will be transferred for donation. Clothing will also be provided to 23 families in Crimea. This week parcels to families of fire victims in the Kostroma and Chita regions and in Engels of the Saratov region were sent.
Part of the clothing collected will be transferred to the ‘Dom Druzey’ Centre (‘House for Friends’), which helps the homeless, seriously ill, and people who have fallen on hard times. Employees of the organization will arrange a holiday for their 40 residents.
The remaining items will be sold in charity shops of the ‘Lavka Radostey’ Foundation for a charitable donation. The collected funds will be used to support foundations in Moscow and Russian regions.
‘Kind Boxes’ will be available in the buildings on Pokrovsky Boulevard and on Staraya Basmannaya Ulitsa until the end of December, so you can bring adult and children's clothing and shoes.
All donated items must be clean and in good condition.
