Student of HSE Campus in Nizhny Novgorod Tests Positive for Coronavirus Infection
A student of the HSE campus in Nizhny Novgorod who had been studying in a mobility programme in Austria tested positive for COVID-19 upon returning to Russia on March 15.
The programme administration, together with the university administration, provided data to Rospotrebnadzor about all students returning from international trips. Rospotrebnadzor staff met the students at the train station and, following the current regulations, placed him under quarantine in an observation ward at Nizhny Novgorod Hospital No. 9.
On March 16, the student had a fever, and had his blood checked for the virus. He was transferred to Nizhny Novgorod Infection Hospital No. 2. The test returned positive for COVID-19.
Today, the student is isolated under medical observation. The student has not been outside, has not visited the campus or the dorm, and has not come into contact with anyone after returning from Austria.
