‘We Are Looking Forward to Seeing You and Should Maintain Constant Contact’

Vice Rector Ivan Prostakov addresses international students

On March 29, HSE University students return to the classrooms. Unfortunately, however, many students will not be able to travel to Russia immediately and will still have to stay at home and continue studying remotely.

International students who wish to come to Russia to study can do so only if their country is on the list of countries with which Russia has resumed air travel and the borders were opened on a reciprocal basis (the current country list can be found on the website of the Visa and Registration Centre). As air travel is restored and borders with other countries are opened, the list will be updated.

For students who have the opportunity to return to HSE University, the procedure for entering Russia has changed slightly: an international student must notify the Study Office of their degree programme of the planned date of entry. Before your trip, you will need to do a PCR test and then do another PCR test upon arrival in Russia. Until you get a negative result, you should self-isolate at home or in a dormitory.

In light of the changes, we kindly ask all international students who are currently staying outside the Russian Federation to contact the managers of their degree programmes and to inform them of their current location. In order for you to come to Russia, we must prepare accurate lists of those who are not yet on campus.

We are looking forward to seeing you and must maintain constant contact. Follow the information on HSE official resources and social media.
