Felix Azhimov Appointed Dean of the Faculty of Humanities

He will take over the position from Acting Dean Dmitry Nosov

In early May, Mikhail Boytsov decided to leave his Dean’s position due to a combination of the upcoming end of his four-year term and personal reasons. By order of the Rector, a discussion and selection of candidates for the position of the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities were organised.

Felix Azhimov is Doctor of Philosophy, Professor, and Honorary Worker of Education of the Russian Federation.

Before his appointment, Felix Azhimov headed the School of Arts and Humanities at Far Eastern Federal University. He has lectured at Heilongjiang University (2013, Harbin, China), Sofia University ‘St. Kliment Ohridski’ (2017, Sofia, Bulgaria), and Hokkaido University (2018, Sapporo, Japan).

He has authored over 70 academic and educational publications. Since 2021, he has been a member of the Russian Historical Society on Historical Education. Felix Azhimov is a board member of the Russian Philosophical Society and received the national ‘Dean of the Year’ award in 2021.
