Seminar ‘MNCs and Social Innovation in Emerging Economies’

Social Innovation has emerged as a prominent global strategic response towards society's demands bidding multinational corporations (MNCs) to go beyond being socially responsible and increase their efforts in addressing issues of the ‘Era of Grand Challenges’. The paper by Hamdan Siddiqui (Master’s student, International Management programme) explores the mechanisms that influence MNC’s involvement in Social Innovation in the context of emerging markets.

Musical Evening: Classical Guitar and Cello

HSE Cultural Centre will hold a concert of a rare and amazing ensemble: classical guitar and cello. Laureate of international competitions Elena Golovina (guitar) and Honoured Artist of Russia Nikolai Solonovich (cello) will perform at HSE University for the first time. The programme will feature original arrangements of pieces by Schubert, Schumann, Chopin, Grieg, and others.

MASNA Online Workshop 'How to Analyze a Network of Your Friends with Social Network Analysis'

The organisers will explain how networks are connected to reality, explain a few basic concepts and show how to build a network of friends on VKontakte.

After the workshop, you will have an idea:

about the process of building network data
on the use of digital methods for the purposes of social sciences and network analysis (a little about Python and the VK API)
about metrics (degree, centrality) and Gephi Lite.

Mini-football Tournament for International Students

This Sunday we will enjoy the first mini-football tournament for international students in the HSE University history.

Start time: 1.00 pm
Venue: Energia stadium (Lefortovo metro station, 5 min by foot).

10 branded presents will be given away to the luckiest football fans.

ScienTech Fair

The event combines the traditional MIEM Technoshow, a ChallengeFest for students and staff, and a mock contest of near-scientific (orthonormal) reports ‘Living Water’.

The Technoshow will feature about 30 of the most interesting MIEM projects in the field of VR/AR, security, video technologies, business solutions and research. ChallengeFest will include four contests dedicated to science and modern technologies: ‘The most beautiful formula’, ‘MIEM through the eyes of a neural network’, "Heart to heart with GPT chat’ and ‘Living Water’.

Swap ‘New, Old, Yours 2.0'

Student organisations Green HSE and ‘Chisty List’ (‘Blank page’) invite you to give things a second life. The programme includes a swap of clothes and accessories, bookcrossing, and a hand-made collage workshop.
