MIEM Tourclub at the Sports Tourism 'Races in Fours' Competition

The sports tourism contest where teams of four (hence the name) compete against each other was held in the Greater Moscow Area. Hundreds of teams from all over Russia and Belarus took part. HSE was represented by 11 students and 3 alumni. The events included long distance running and crossing ravines with ropes.

Two groups of four women proved to be among the strongest teams and got through to the top 10 in the 2nd class of difficulty. The students Anastasia Kontorshikova, Marina Yerokhova and Ekaterina Sorokina took 8th place, while MIEM alumnus Ekaterina Krasnoperova and students Natalia Sachkova, Evgenia Konorova and Anna Pilipentseva came up to the fifth line on the touring tables. The students Nikita Yakimov, Yevgeny Burkin, Anton Sluch and Sergei Peshikov finished 4th in the 3rd class distance run.

Tour club members were among both competitors and judges. Konstantin and Irina Bychkov, Natalia Zubareva, Aleksei Chelyukanov and Leonid Postovsky showed themselves to be highly qualified and are allowed to apply for the judges category in December.

On February 28, 2024, HSE University's Academic Council held the final meeting with its current members: their term of office is expiring. On March 19, HSE University will host a conference for its employees and students, at which elections will take place, and, by the end of the month, a new composition of the Academic Council will be formed for a five-year term.
