These days, education at a good university that has an excellent reputation among employers means a strong likelihood for sustainable career growth from the outset. The value of education on the labour market is determined primarily by the quality of the university, and only after that, by the area of study. As one of the best universities for social and economic sciences not only in St. Petersburg, but in all of Russia, HSE St. Petersburg offers such a quality education to people today. It is also an acknowledged leader in basic and applied research, as well as in the amount of research commissioned by Russian and international companies, government departments and agencies, and regional authorities. This work fills studies at our university with real-life research tasks and projects and allow us to focus on developing talent and applied competencies.
The university is growing and developing, and we have much to be proud of. Recently, we opened a new academic building on Kantemirovskaya. These bright and spacious classrooms host classes and workshops where we welcome our partners and hold large conferences as well as city-wide and international business events. This not only reinforces the campus’s standing in the professional community, but also confirms its status as a comprehensive university offering a variety of educational, research and innovative products.
HSE St. Petersburg is becoming a university open to the city – a university ready to share its knowledge, experience and research outcomes, to make its highly qualified experts available to the public and to offer exciting events. Our desire is for young people in St. Petersburg to see us on the city map as a point of intellectual and emotional attraction, a place where things are humming.
Studying at HSE St. Petersburg is a dream for many young people, and high school graduates from across the country who are interested in a global-level education are coming here. We are also attracting more and more international students. HSE St. Petersburg is becoming more integrated into the international academic community as we reinforce our partnerships with leading international universities and research centres in economics and management, sociology and political science, history and law. Authoritative international professors teach at our campus. We are carrying out joint research, expanding the number of double degree programmes on offer, and are sending our students abroad for internships.
The university is planning to launch new undergraduate and Master’s programmes, including programmes that are fully English taught. We are increasing the number of conferences and summer schools held on our campus by authoritative research associations. All of these changes are aimed at improving the level of students’ preparation and reinforcing the university’s standing in the international academic community.
We will be able to solve all the challenges facing HSE St. Petersburg only if every participant in the academic process is involved in close collaboration, including those who teach, foster and instruct, and those who study, master, and investigate what is still new and unknown!
