Seminar: “Accounting for capital expenditures in assessing the dynamics of total factor productivity. Experience of Russia KLEMS”

Measuring the dynamics of capital as a factor of production is based on the concept of capital services included in the 2008 SNA. The seminar, held on February 18,  presented the calculation of capital services for the Russian economy for 1995–2016.

Different approaches to assessing capital as a factor of production were given and indicators of capital stocks and services were compared. The seminar presented approaches to assessing capital stocks and services based on Russian statistics (since 1995) for 34 industries; the role of capital in assessing the sources of growth of the Russian economy using the example of Russia KLEMS; and an overview of the advantages and disadvantages of various indicators.
