Through the system of government scholarships international students have access to tuition-free study at the HSE. This is often called the “State Quota System”. For more information please check the webpage.

Full-degree students can apply for a range scholarships given by the HSE for a certain period of time.

Can a student who isn't state-funded receive a scholarship?

Students who are not state-funded can participate in the Potanin, Gaidar, Likhachev, Maslyakov, Poletaev, Sobchak, Solzhenitsyn, Zinchenko scholarships, as well as the Moscow Government and Presidential Scholarships.

Which scholarship is the largest?

The size of HSE’s scholarships varies between 400 rubles per month to 15,000 rubles per month. The student can participate in several scholarship competitions at the same time and actually have a scholarship of 40,000 rubles per month.

When is the scholarship paid out? Which dates are they disbursed at the cash desk as 20 Myasnitskaya?

All questions concerning scholarship payments, transfers to the student's card and pickup at HSE's cash desk – as well as the desk's hours of operation – can be directed to the accounting department.

Where will I receive the scholarship, at the cash desk or to my social card?

If you already have a social card, give the accounting department the card information and the scholarship will be transferred to this card.

What is a student social card?

This is a bankcard that is given to all state-funded students. It is used to transfer scholarship money to the student, as well as money for reduced fare public transportation.
