Educational Studies Moscow Indexed in Scopus

The decision was made by the Scopus Expert Council after a two-year examination of the journal published by HSE. The editorial board of the journal Educational Studies Moscow applied for indexing in the Scopus database in 2014 (the application process takes a long time). The Scopus Expert Council has regularly monitored the journal’s development over the two years since the application was made. There are strict requirements for paper and e-formats of the journal, as well as for the quality of research results published.

‘Indexing in Scopus for us is recognition of the quality of the published materials. In fact, this is the result  two years of work, but of a decade of work by the entire team of authors and editors,’ says Ekaterina Bagdasarova, Manager of the Editorial Office of the Educational Studies Moscow Journal.

The journal Educational Studies Moscow has been published since 2004, and HSE Rector Yaroslav Kuzminov is the journal’s editor-in-chief. Since 2014 all the materials are openly available on the journal’s website. In addition, almost all research the journal’s materials are published in both Russian and English.

The journal is intended not only for specialists. The editors believe that education is an area that is of interest to everyone at some point in their lives. Despite the fact that education research takes a long time, the journal tries to issue topical materials. It covers those topics that may be interesting to a diverse audience: school teachers, school principals, university professors, officials, and decision makers in the field of education policy.

The journal publishes conference and round table proceedings, and reviews of books published in the field of education. In addition, a lot of important books on education, which had not been translated into Russian, are translated and published in the Educational Studies Moscow Library.
