Preparations are underway at HSE University for Parallel Computational Technologies (PCT) 2025, an IT conference covering all aspects of the use of cloud, supercomputer, and neural network technologies in science and engineering. Applications to present at the conference (including those from early-career scientists) are open until January 1, 2025.

HSE University invites submissions of proposals with academic reports for participation in the 25th Yasin (April) International Academic Conference (YIAC). The conference programme, centred on five research themes addressing issues of economic and social development, will retain its interdisciplinary focus and welcome participation from leading scientists in Russia and around the globe. The key events of the 25th Yasin Conference will be taking place in Moscow from April 15 to 18, 2025.

The Faculty of Economic Sciences is launching its annual prediction contest. On October 14, the Nobel Committee will announce the winners of the Sveriges Riksbank Alfred Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences live on air. You have time to prepare and explore the landscape of contemporary economic thought. What topics and areas are considered particularly important and promising at the moment? Anyone can win.

On October 25–26, 2024, HSE University’s AI and Digital Science Institute and the AI Research Centre hold the Fall into ML 2024 conference in Moscow. This year’s event will focus on the prospects in development of fundamental artificial intelligence, with SBER as its conference title partner.

The start of the academic year is not just about new subjects and long-awaited reunions with classmates, but also about choosing a topic for your term paper. Writing it is often quite challenging, and the results of your hard work can sometimes feel irrelevant or unapplicable. SRPC offers a great opportunity to receive expert feedback on one’s research, gain recognition within the academic community, and take the first steps toward an academic career.

The HSE Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence for Cognitive Sciences (AICS) has launched regular seminars, offering students and scientists from various universities and research centres the opportunity to share their latest research and discuss the most recent developments in artificial intelligence in a friendly and constructive atmosphere. The first seminar was held on May 15.

On April 6–8, HSE University-St Petersburg will hold the HSE International Model United Nations. Registration is open till March 1. Participation is open to both university and high school students.

Applications for the fourth HSE University Competition of the Best Russian-language Scientific and Popular Science Papers will be accepted from February 1 to March 15. The authors that receive the highest scores from the expert jury will be awarded on June 6—Russian Language Day. The main goal of the competition is to support and promote Russian language as a language of science, as well as to popularise works affiliated with HSE University among the global Russian-speaking audience.

Reports on new research results will be presented and discussed as part of the conference’s sections. These reports will be selected based on reviews of proposals. As always, the conference programme features expert discussions of the most pressing economic, social, internal and external issues in the format of roundtables and associated events.

On November 24-25, 2023, the 12th ICEF-CInSt International Finance Conference is being held. The event shall be organised jointly by the International Laboratory of Financial Economics (LFE ICEF) and the Centre for Institutional Studies (CInSt). LFE Head Vladimir Sokolov and CInSt Acting Director Maria Semenova commented on the participants, key topics to be presented, and how the conference creates a platform for cooperation and co-authorship for experts from all over the world.
